• List the related, older and newer articles with the present article in the same category
• Displaying tooltips for linked news items of the present article in the same category - related, newer and older news items.
• Displaying created date with the listed clickable news items.
• You can disable plugin for some specific categories or sections.

Tooltip:

• Enable/disable tooltip
• Changable width, height, color of tooltip box(*).
• Image can be display in tooltip box
• Changeable char number for linked title, tooltip title and tooltip content, support also for utf-8 characters.
• Support mootools (Joomla core), Overlib and Dhtml tooltips (**)

(*) - Only active for Overlib (full features), mootools (only width), Dhtml (only width) scripts.
(**) - Dhtml tooltip show only text of tooltip content, not title

Installation:

1. Logged in as administrator in Backend.
2. Select menu Extensions/Install/Uninstall, then select your file from your PC by click on Browser button. Finally click mouse on Upload file & Install button. If you see a welcome message, click continue... link to finish.
3. Select menu Extensions/Plugin Manager, then select Content - Joomla Extra News Plugin and publish it.
4. You should set this plugin order to be last and change the parameters which is suitable for your website. You can change the term for Related/newer/older words in your language, and also change the tooltip colour

Configuration:

• Disable plugin for specific categories and sections:
  for categories - at Disable category id List field, type in the id numbers of categories that you want to disable this plugin, for example: 1,6,8,29 - the plugin will not show in these categories with id = 1, 6, 8, 29.
  for sections - at Disable section id List field, type in the id numbers of sections that you want to disable this plugin, for example: 1,7,11,12 - the plugin will not show in these categories with id = 1, 7, 11, 12
• You can change the number of chars for linked title, tooltip title and tooltip description.
• Tooltip configuration:
  Color, border, width, height of tooltip box can be changed only for Overlib at this time.
  Mootool and Dhtml tooltips can change width of tooltip box.

Seems like links to download Plugin extranews with tooltip ver 2.0.5 is dead.
I love it and using it with my joomla 1.0 website and planning to use it on my new joomla 1.5.
As soon as I will be able to get my hands on the file, of course...

Bạn bật chức năng Debug hoặc bật chức năng hiển thị lỗi (warning và notice) để biết chính xác lỗi gì.

Tôi bật debug thì vẫn ra trang trắng tinh. Chỉ unpublished plugin thì lại như bình thường. Ko hiểu có vấn đề gì ko?

Tôi thử cài phiên bản 2.0.0 của các bạn thì chạy ngon lành. Như vậy tôi nghĩ phiên bản 2.0.5 có lỗi gì đó. Các bạn có thể test lại để chỉnh sửa thêm.

Sao mình cài đặt xong,khi vào setting thì ko có mục Label related item,old item, new item mà chỉ có mục Number of new,old, related item thôi :-S

Có ai biết vì sao không? chỉ cho mình với.

Bạn có thể thay đổi nó trong file ngôn ngữ đi kèm plugin. Xem nội dung tất cả các file trong gói!

I am desperately seeking for an extended "Related Articles" Module or Bot...
All extensions i know of, search always in the same categorie of the current article :-(

I would like to display or relate articles of other categories (makes much more sense anyway IMHO) Cause this gives a real cross-reference and flexible information to the reader.

Could you add a parameter or an option to search in different categories?
I guess you will also need a bot-call plus a parameter list in the article like:

{extranews: mode:relate cat:1,7,10... }

Cause otherwise the bot configuration would be global for all articles!


Is this possible and do you have module version of your great plugin?
All I found was the joomla 1.0 mod_related_items9.ZIP ...

How the plugin work is:
- The older and newer articles always are in same category of the current article.
- The related articles are in whole article of com_content, not in the same category the current article.

About the options for related article. I will consider it later.

Did i get this right... comparing of metakeys takes place over ALL content items !?
And your plugin display can be hidden in specific categories/section.
So, you would have to "limit" the searched content by categorie or section... by entering their IDs, right?
Is this possible?

Is there a J!1.5 module, too?

I'll check the code and modify the plugin . I also did this for a Joomla 1.5.

Hi everyone

I was looking for a "related news" component for Joomla and I came across extranews. I tried to install it on Sailing Channel but it doesn't seem to work á it gives me multiple warnings like the following:
